Booking of clubs:
Lunch club can be booked for the whole term in advance or added at a later date if there is space available.
Breakfast and after school clubs can be booked in advance per term which guarantees your child's place in the club.
Bookings can also be made on an ad hoc basis but it may not be possible for your child to attend if the maximum number of children has been reached. You must give 4 weeks' paid notice if you wish to cancel your child's regular place at breakfast or after school club.
All children will be funded for a maximum of 5 sessions (15 universal hours) from the term AFTER their third birthday. If you think you are eligible for the additional 15 hours funding, you must apply via the website www.childcarechoices.gov.uk. We offer the full 30 hour funding for parents of eligible children as 10 x 3 hour sessions per week (if the sessions are available). Lunch club, breakfast club and after school club are not included in the funding and will be invoiced separately.
Funding may be available for 2 year olds if certain criteria are met. Please contact the pre-school for more information.
Funding does not cover breakfast, after school or lunch clubs.
All parents/carers are required to sign the parent/carer declaration form at the start of the term to confirm the number of funded hours they wish to access at the pre-school.
Southend Borough Council has agreed that if we have the sessions available and you decide to increase the number of hours your child is accessing after the headcount date, we can charge for these additional sessions. The next term you will be able to claim for the increased hours, provided you meet all entitlement criteria.
Payment of fees:
Invoices are sent out at the beginning of each new term and can be paid either in one lump sum or in 3 monthly instalments. All fees must be cleared by the end of each term. Late payment of a monthly instalment will result in a £20 fee being added to the invoice and could result in a child losing their place at pre-school or breakfast/after school club.
Criteria for admissions
Due to the increase in applications being received by the pre-school, and in an effort to include a broader age band in each yearly intake, our admissions policy (effective from October 2018) is as follows:
- We have one intake every year in September. Places will be offered first to the children who have been on the waiting list longest, as long as they are aged 2 or over on or before 31 August. Intakes will be organised in the January before the September admission
- An application must have been submitted online via this website using the application form. An email will always be sent to acknowledge receipt and confirm date of application
- Two spaces will be reserved every September for children with additional needs
